Potassium ferrocyanide application
1. It is mainly used as carburizing agent in iron and steel industry to improve the surface hardness of iron and steel parts. Printing and dyeing industry is used as an oxidizing agent to make the dyeing of cotton cloth with sperm proceed step by step and maintain the dyeing quality. As a coagulant, the pharmaceutical industry can achieve an ideal impurity removal process and improve the quality of drugs. The pigment industry is used as the main raw material for the production of brilliant blue pigments. Chemical industry is used as iron removal agent. Food industry is used as food additive - salt anti-caking agent.
2. Potassium ferrocyanide can be used with zinc acetate as clarifier: it is the precipitation of zinc ferrocyanide produced by the reaction of zinc acetate [Zn (CH3COO) 2.2H2O] with potassium ferrocyanide to remove or adsorb interfering substances. This clarifier has strong protein removal ability, but poor decolorization ability. It is suitable for the clarification of samples with light color and high protein content, such as dairy products, soybean products, etc. It can be used for the extraction and clarification of soluble sugars.
3. As an anti-caking agent, our country stipulates that it can be used in table salt with a maximum usage of 0.005 g/kg (based on ferrocyanide). China's GB 2760-96 stipulates that salt is allowed as an anti-caking agent. The maximum usage was 0.01g/kg (based on ferrocyanide). Addition in salt, dosage 0.01g/kg (calculated by ferrocyanide). When used in practice, water solution with concentration of 0.25-0.5g/100mL can be prepared and sprayed into 100kg salt. Potassium ferrocyanide is often used as iron and copper removal agent in wine in Europe.
